Developing a Return-to-Work Program

by | May 20, 2022

Create Light Duty for a Workers Compensation Claim.

Wages are always a challenge when developing this program.

Define the light duty task, write a complete job description. Be specific and list all job functions, including lifting and the weight associated with it as well as reduced wages. Consider the time frame, i.e. Light Duty position will be available for 30 days then will be re-evaluated by Human Resources.

Providing light duty position allows injured worker to return to employment.

Having a written program will enforce your commitment to your employees as well as provide the treating physician guidelines on what the employee will be doing.
