During his career in high-level financial capacities, Gary has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Corporate Controller with many companies. He has also worked with several companies as part-time and interim CFO.
Gary possesses over 40 years of business experience including many years managing of multiple locations and evaluating expansion to new locations. He was CFO of a 12-location medical practice for 12 years, a 37 location, $250 million dollar airport services company and a 70 location, $100 million dollar food and vending corporation. He balanced objectives of six physician-owners with the medical practice.
While with Nperspective CFO and Strategic Services from 2013 to 2022, Gary strongly served over two dozen clients. He stepped in as part-time CFO for a six-location non-profit medical group and headed a project for a 10-location medical practice, guiding implementation of twenty financial and operational improvements he identified. For over nine years he has been part-time CFO for the Central Florida Sports Commission, overseeing all financial matters. At Enterprise Florida he guided staff through their annual audit as part-time CFO. He was part-time CFO for a year with Control Laser. He directed a software conversion project for a nonprofit, The Winter Park Library, and revamped another nonprofit, Runway to Hope’s, Quick Books chart of accounts and accounting policies.
A 30-plus year central Florida resident, Gary spent several years each as CFO of both Visit Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports. He directed the start-up accounting for The Lifeboat Project, Inc., which battles human trafficking, including successful IRS 501(c)(3) application and has served as Treasurer since 2012. He served for five years as Wekiva Wilderness Trust Treasurer.
Gary has a strong background in executive management, providing strategic advice to Executive Committees and Boards of Directors, accounting and financial control, budgeting and planning, treasury management, risk management, and human resources administration. Gary started his own company and has over fifteen years of entrepreneurial experience.
Gary is a skilled executive who combines strategic vision with a strong understanding of operational issues and an ability to get the job done in a timely, efficient manner while still rolling up his sleeves and delving into underlying accounting and operational details. He has developed strategic business plans to track objectives, actions, timetables and goals and has designed key performance plans to compare organizational goals and results. His three plus decades of experience as a CFO and controller has focused on improving operational performance and profitability as well as upgrading accounting and reporting capabilities of finance departments he has directed. Gary has developed internal control processes and designed accounting policies and procedures that have resulted in substantial improvements in financial and operational management reporting.

Consolidation of eight Asian Countries Accounting Systems
Led a team that converted eight different accounting systems into one consolidated company on SAP and implemented new closing processes to reduce the closing process by 10 days. Thus, we were able to provide timely and meaningful financial statements to management and shareholders

Implemented programs for operations and finance and accounting, development of processes and procedures and applicable metrics for all aspects of the business’ global supply chain needs for both domestic and international.
Establish International Subsidiary
For automotive logistics unit
Established subsidiary in Mexico, which included designing a financial system and processes in compliance with Mexican legal requirements.
Accounts receivable DSO
Reduction of (DSO) Days Sales Outstanding for fast growing logistics domestic company.
By training and implementing TQM (Total Quality Management), AR DSO was reduced by 8 days resulting in an annual cost savings of over $500,000.
Additionally, DSO of an acquired company was reduced by 36 days by implementing Key performance indicators, and TQM.
International Logistics
For NVOCC and freight forwarder
Maximized shared financial functions for nine (9) US stations and twelve (12) stations in eight (8) countries in Asia. Included monthly financial reporting to management and the Board (3 day accounting close), cash forecasting (annually and rolling 13 weeks), budgeting, customer credit and collections, banking and audit relationships in Asia, and development of key financial metrics.
Financial Statements
Reduction of monthly closing process from 10 days to 3 days
Implemented a process whereby tasks were performed daily and weekly, minimizing the effort required at the end of the month. This allowed financial statements to the management team and shareholders to be more timely and relevant to decision making.
Rail and motor carrier vendors disbursements
For domestic trucking company
Implemented productivity gains enabling staff reduction from 13 to 5 people. Transferred two disbursements groups from Oakland to Memphis, hired a new staff, revised processes and provided training. Included fuel tax payments, owner operators, and company drivers.
